Blue Bench

Colorful bench in Georgetown, CO. Took a "Friday Drive" since the weather was absolutely gorgeous today. Bench needs a coat of paint but pretty bright nonetheless. By colorizing this photo you can see how much the color "pops".

IIwaco, WA

Partial color stripped out of this photo. I left the reds and yellows and removed the blues, greens, cyan and magenta.

Full Color

IIwaco is a quaint little town on the coast of Washington State just across the Washington - Oregon boarder. Took a few photos at the marina before an early morning meeting last year.

Ilwaco, Washington... Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, Ilwaco is the gateway to one of our nation's newest national treasures, the Lewis and Clark National & State Historical Park. Lighthouses, pristine beaches, fabulous campgrounds and breathtaking hiking trails all invite you to experience the unparalleled natural beauty of the area. The Port of Ilwaco is the Pacific Northwest's premiere sturgeon, salmon, halibut, crab and tuna fishing destination.

A Blue Day

I usually plan a hike each Saturday morning, however this weekend we had a bit a cold spell with 21 degree temperatures so I did a little experimenting with my off camera flash. Took a couple decorative blue wine bottles from my wine rack and shot them from different angles with a variety of lighting. I also played around with HDR (high dynamic range imaging) and combined three images to get my final picture. Hope you enjoy.

Version 1: HDR image with some contrast adjustments to get a more artistic look.

Version 2: Colorized to highlight the blue in the bottles.

Version 3: HDR photo after combining three images to get greater detail in the photo. Click on the photos to see larger versions.

Bad Apple Turns Good

Ok. So I haven't posted any photos in a couple weeks, but there is good reason. My iMac had a power supply issue and was in the shop for 10 days. When I got it back the display did not look like it should so I brought it back....long story short Apple gave me a brand new iMac (for FREE) even though mine was out of warranty and I did not have AppleCare. Needless to say I bought AppleCare for this one! That is great customer service and Apple turned a disgruntled customer into a customer for life. Love my iMac!

Here are few "and That" photos from the past few weeks.

I think this guy had a hangover, but I could be wrong!

Another view of the creek down stream from Helen Hunt Falls outside of Colorado Springs.

Sunday Visit Downtown Denver

RTD train whizzing by on California Street.

Have to have at least one corny building shot.

Colorado State Capital in background.

Orange flower in front of Capital building. Used white card as background.

Had one of our rare overcast days here today. Took advantage of it and headed downtown to take some pictures without the bright sunlight we usually have...which is not the best for taking photographs. No colorization in any of these photos...this is some of "that".

Cash For Clunkers - Escapee

I guess this beauty was too nice to trade in as a clunker. Don't you just love the paint job? Spotted this Cabriolet of some kind in Golden, CO the other day. Quite the cruiser. Reminds me a bit of the old Znarkaim mobile "Cookie" Maikranz used to drive in high school.

Blue Birds and Buffalos

Saw this little guy at Daniel's Park in Highlands Ranch, CO. Couldn't get him to look my way, but still some great color.

And....1/2 mile down the road from my little blue bird friend I came across this "little" guy!

Great use of an old window pane. Use clear self adhesive photo corners and rotate out photos as you wish to display your latest shots.
