I attended my first Meetup group outing this morning. It was with the Denver Photo Walk Meetup Group. Had a great time and met some very nice people. If you don't know about www.meetup.com you should check it out. Basically it is a collection of "groups" with interests that run the gamut. I belong to a couple photography groups and a hiking group. A great way to meet new people with common interests.
Our assignment for today was within the first 30 – 60 minutes take 100 photographs. Don’t throw any of them away – use them later to examine how I approached the scene; how I windowed down to my true focus.
Within the next 30 – 60 minutes take only 3 images. With each image really examine it. Does it translated into a two dimensional image the way I thought it would? Would I put this on my wall? No? Then delete it. Try again. Is the light the way I wanted it? The framing? Is it the right moment? No? Delete it.
Here are the 3 images I ended up taking in the last session.
